Quality is Not an Act — It’s a Habit
In a world where competitiveness depends on trust and consistency, quality is not just an act — it’s a habit.
The Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) proudly took part in “The Special Session with KENAS,” a highlight of the 3-day training and awareness program organized by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) at Tulip Hotel, Nairobi.
Representing KENAS was Mr. Stanslaus Masinza, Manager – Calibration Laboratories, who delivered an engaging presentation on the importance of accreditation, its value to industry, and its alignment with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
From KENAS’s roots to its continental footprint — including milestones like the recent accreditation of the Zambia Bureau of Standards — the session provided practical insights on navigating compliance, building credibility, and embedding quality in daily operations.
A key highlight of the session was sensitization on the mandatory accreditation requirements under the KENAS Act, Section 10A, which obligates all Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) operating in Kenya to be accredited by KENAS or formally recognized through an exemption process. This ensures all conformity assessment services meet nationally and internationally accepted standards, fostering trust, safety, and competitiveness.
Participants also learned how to verify their accreditation status via the KENAS website and received step-by-step guidance on the exemption process for CABs accredited by foreign bodies.
“Accreditation is not just a certificate — it’s a commitment to doing things right, every single day.”
— Mr. Stanslaus Masinza, Manager – Calibration Laboratories, KENAS
As part of the conversation, participants were invited to the International Accreditation Conference (IAC) 2025, set for 11–13 November in Mombasa, under the theme “Shaping Global Accreditation Practices for Excellence and Trust.”
