Strengthening Continental Collaboration: KENAS Hosts CRESAC-Afrique Delegation from Côte d’Ivoire

Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) had the pleasure of hosting distinguished visitors from Côte d’IvoireDr. Adiabouah Anna and Sess Agninel — representing CRESAC-Afrique, a regional body supporting accreditation in West Africa.

The delegation was received by the Chief Manager, Laboratories, Ms. Lucy Namu, and taken through KENAS’ accreditation processes, in the presence of KENAS CEO, Dr. Walter Ongeti.

CRESAC-Afrique plays a vital role in advancing accreditation for medical laboratories, environmental testing, certification, and inspection across the West African region. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange insights and best practices in accreditation, as well as to explore areas of collaboration in capacity building and technical cooperation.

During the meeting, the visitors were also briefed on the upcoming International Accreditation Conference (IAC) 2025, to be held in Mombasa, Kenya — an event that will bring together accreditation experts, regulators, and conformity assessment professionals from across the continent and beyond.

At KENAS, we remain committed to supporting conformity assessment bodies (CABs) on their journey toward accreditation. Through partnerships with institutions like CRESAC-Afrique, KENAS continues to champion mutual recognition, technical competence, and trust in Africa’s quality infrastructure systems.

Together, we are building a continent where quality, safety, and excellence are the foundation for sustainable growth.
